Subgrade Stabilization for Lakhanpur Mining Haul Road

In December 2024, Sanbros Spares Pvt. Ltd. stabilized the MCL Lakhanpur Mining Haul Road, which had deteriorated due to heavy traffic and inadequate compaction.
To ensure a fast, durable, and cost-effective solution, the team applied a 4-in-1 CRPS layer over compacted earth, followed by two 200 mm layers of murrum soil, enhancing stability and load capacity.

The Problem

The MCL Lakhanpur Mining Haul Road faced severe deterioration, rutting, and deformation due to heavy vehicular traffic and insufficient compaction. The lack of a proper layered subgrade led to rapid wear, making the road unstable and unsafe for continuous mining operations.

To ensure long-term stability, durability, and cost efficiency, an innovative subgrade stabilization solution was required. The objective was to reinforce the road surface, enhance load-bearing capacity, and prevent further degradation, ensuring a sustainable and reliable infrastructure for mining transport.

The Solution

To address road deterioration, rutting, and instability at the MCL Lakhanpur Mining Haul Road, the team implemented a 4-in-1 CRPS stabilization system. This solution reinforced the subgrade, improved load-bearing capacity, and ensured long-term durability.
The process involved site preparation with soil compaction, followed by the installation of the 4-in-1 CRPS layer. Backfilling with two 200 mm layers of murrum soil ensured a stable and resilient surface capable of withstanding heavy mining traffic.
