The Ratlam Drain Project faced major execution challenges due to limited space between railway tracks and frequent train movement every 10-15 minutes. The continuous displacement of ballast, along with large concrete structures and track components, made it difficult to maintain proper slope alignment and execute work efficiently.

Additionally, track sinking issues caused rainwater accumulation, further complicating the drainage system. A strategic and adaptive approach was needed to stabilize the drain, prevent ballast displacement, and ensure effective water runoff while working within tight operational constraints.

The Solution

To overcome the challenges of limited space, frequent train movement, and ballast displacement at the Ratlam Drain Project, a strategic drainage solution was implemented. The team regularly managed ballast, increased collar sizes, and applied a 150mm overlap reinforcement to enhance stability.
